James Maddison has now told Farke that Leeds need to sign 22-year-old this summer

Daniel Farke has been told by Tottenham Hotspur summer signing James Maddison to target Luke Thomas as Leeds United set their sights on the left-back in the final day of the transfer window.

That is according to a report from talkSPORT, which notes that the 22-year-old is likely to leave the King Power Stadium before the deadline.

Luke Thomas appears to be a key Leeds target this week. Of course, it has been apparent for some time that the Whites need another left-back. In fact, some will suggest that it is an issue that the club have not properly addressed since Charle Taylor left Elland Road.

Maddison has urged Leeds to make move for Luke Thomas

TalkSPORT reports that Leeds are desperate to sign a new left-back, particularly after Sam Byram suffered an injury at the weekend.

Interestingly, it appears that Daniel Farke has been urged to make a move for Thomas – from one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League.

TalkSPORT reports that James Maddison has told Farke that he should target Thomas. Maddison played under Farke at Norwich, and played alongside Thomas for the Foxes.

Leicester would prefer to let the youngster leave permanently. But he has not played in the Championship this season. And he is into the final year of his contract at the King Power Stadium.

Signing a new left-back will be a big boost for Leeds. We have already seen a number of players feature in that role. And it is clear what a difference having a natural in that position could have.

Obviously, there are still hurdles to clear. But clearly, the £40 million Spurs star believes that Leeds will not regret it if they manage to bring Thomas in.
