Leeds United completed the signing of Manor Solomon on a season-long loan from Tottenham this week after a drawn-out process to finally secure the signing of the Israeli winger.
Solomon, 25, joins Leeds as Daniel Farke and The 49ers secure two attacking signings following the exits of Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter. Solomon is seen as a coup, as he joins on a dry loan.
A player who has won the Ukraine Premier League title, one who has played in the Champions League and the Premier League for both Spurs and Fulham. Jamie O’Hara expects Solomon to shine at Leeds.
He becomes the club’s sixth summer signing after the permanent addition of Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell on loan and Jayden Bogle, Alex Cairns and Largie Ramazani all joining for what is believed to be about £25m.
Solomon says he has been told that Leeds fans are “crazy”
Speaking on LUTV in his first interview after joining Leeds, Solomon says he chose to join the Yorkshire club because of the fans and what he has heard about the Elland Road support from others in football.
“I’ve heard a lot about the club, about the fans, the heritage, the history, I know it’s a massive club in England. I’m looking forward to seeing the fans. The fans [were the no.1 deciding factor in joining].
“I know it’s a big club with great history and the fans are really crazy and passionate, I’ve heard a lot about them and really excited to meet them and play with them,” Solomon said in his first interview.
How could Leeds line-up against Hull on Saturday at Elland Road?
Given Leeds starred against Sheffield Wednesday last time out with Brenden Aaronson and Dan James scoring goals and Wilfried Gnonto impressing in the 10 role, it is likely the trio remain in the starting XI.
Ramazani though, a £10m signing from Almeria, has had a week of training at Leeds and could be given a solid substitute appearance from the bench if the Belgium U21 star does not start for Daniel Farke’s side.
Solomon will almost certainly be on the bench too and given minutes, albeit perhaps a later outing as he gets to grips with Farke’s tactical demands. Suddenly, Farke has plenty of numbers in attacking positions.
