Dominic Matteo told LUTV’s Matchday Preview show that Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville is “the one” player making things happen at the start of games – saying he has been “outstanding”.

Summerville, who turned 22 this week, has been gaining plenty of plaudits and rightly so over the past few days after his four goal involvements in our 4-1 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

He scored a brace, and created two more – both scored by Dan James. Leeds were ruthless against Darren Moore’s men, clearly a class or two apart from the Terriers. Next up, is Leicester City on Friday.

The Foxes have made a record-breaking start to the Championship campaign under Enzo Maresca, winning 13 of their 14 Championship fixtures. Boasting 39 points, they are expected to gain promotion.

Ex-Leeds captain Matteo raved about Summerville. A player that Fabrizio Romano reported this week that despite staying in the summer, could change his mind in the next few weeks – ahead of January.

“Summerville, woah. I’ve been saying it for a while now, his performances have been outstanding. He’s actually been the one for me, at the start of games, that is making things happen,” Matteo said on LUTV.

Dominic Matteo: Crysencio Summerville outstanding for Leeds

He has been on fire. While Joel Piroe has the off game here and there and James seems to make the odd impact in the final third but offers a lot less in terms of transition, Summerville is everywhere.

Rutter, too. These two look as though they are carrying are threat and are push for an instant return to the Premier League. Promotion, though, is not nailed on. No fault really of Leeds or Daniel Farke.

But simply because of the form of Friday’s opponents Leicester and of course, second-placed Ipswich – who despite only just being promoted, are on absolute fire. Leeds are already needing to win games.
