Italian outlet CMW claim Inter Milan want to sign Junior Firpo and are willing to send Germany international Robin Gosens to Leeds United in a straight-swap deal to land the left-back – in a deal that the report says, suits all parties.
Firpo, 26, is enjoying his best spell in a Leeds shirt since joining the club from Barcelona in the summer of 2021. A difficult first season saw Firpo fail to gain any momentum due to a string of little injuries. Pre-season promised much.
But then, he picked up a knock just before the trip to Australia – losing his place to Pascal Struijk. It was not until February this year did Firpo finally win his place back from Struijk. He has started six Premier League games in a row.
Indeed, Firpo is now one of the first names on the team sheet under Javi Gracia – who likes his full-backs to get into the final third. He scored the winner against Southampton in a 1-0 win. That improved form is interesting Inter Milan.
The report from CMW states that Inter want to sign Firpo. In order to tempt Leeds into a sale – given Firpo has a deal until June 2025 – the Nerazzurri are willing to offer the Yorkshire side German ace Gosens in a straight swap deal.

There are a couple of issues with this claim from Italian media outlet CMW. The first being, that while Firpo is in good form and starting to show why Leeds signed him – is he really good enough for Inter Milan? Absolutely not.
Secondly, there is no chance Gosens would be willing to swap Inter for Leeds. Gosens is a Germany regular. A player with 34 appearances in European competition – 24 of which have come in the Champions League at Inter, and Atalanta.
Firpo would jump at the chance to join Inter, you would expect. Inter may have some interest in Firpo. But even if Leeds stay up, Gosens will see him himself as a level above a club like Leeds. If Inter want Firpo, they will have to pay for him.
