Marc Roca has admitted he is in talks over a permanent transfer from Leeds United to Real Betis as he continues to impress on loan with the La Liga club – saying he is “very happy” where at Betis.
Roca, 26, was one of eight senior Leeds players to use the relegation loan clause in the summer – along with the likes of Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Brenden Aaronson. He joined Betis on a season’s loan.
He has since starred for Betis. The Spanish side sit seventh in La Liga, losing just two of 13 games in the league. Betis have nine points from a possible 12 in the Europa League, and remain in the Copa Del Rey.
El Chiringuito’s reporter Gonzalo Tortosa claimed on Twitter this week that Betis are looking to get a deal done as soon as possible. Now, Roca has confirmed that talks are ongoing with Betis over a deal.
“It is true that we are in contact with the club. We will see how the negotiations progress, but I am very happy here,” Roca said, during an interview with Spanish outlet PTV Sevilla, as posted on Twitter.

It just makes sense. Over the last three years, Roca has struggled outside of his home country. Just 24 games in Germany with Bayern over two years. At Leeds, he didn’t cope with the intensity of the league.
Back in Spain, he is starring for Betis – and, even being linked with a Spain call-up as Euro 2024 comes into the picture. He needs a permanent move to Betis and it suits all parties involved, including Leeds.
Leeds have since revamped the midfield, spending the cash earned from Tyler Adams’ exit on Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev – cash left over. If Leeds can get their money back on Roca, do it.
