Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca has spoken of his happiness on loan at Real Betis but has insisted he will leave any permanent move to his agent.
Roca was speaking in an interview with Estadio Deportivo, where he was asked about the potential of a permanent switch from Leeds and his start to life at Betis.
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a fine first few months back in La Liga having been one of eight members of last season’s first team squad at Leeds to leave on loan.
He has quickly established himself as a key player under Manuel Pellegrini, starting 14 of Betis’ 16 matches across all competitions, scoring twice.
Roca has even been handed starts at centre-back in the Europa League, a position no one would have envisaged him playing on the evidence of his season at Leeds.
Roca says it ‘is a delight’ to be at Betis
Speaking on the prospect of joining Betis permanently next summer, Roca says he will leave that up to his agents, but did share just how happy he is at his new club.
He said: “I am comfortable here and I have entered the locker room very well. We are performing at a good level; I am comfortable with my teammates and the fans.
“It is a delight to be here and everything else is the work of my representative and Betis. I’m excited and happy and from there we’ll see what happens.”
Clearly there is a deal to be done here that can suit all parties as it is unlikely he will be welcomed back at Leeds with open arms.
At the same time, Roca is clearly happy at Betis, and Betis are clearly happy with the impact he has had since joining from Leeds, meaning it is surely a no brainer.
Hopefully Leeds are able to make somewhere in excess of what they paid Bayern Munich to sign him in the summer of 2022, which surely isn’t out of the question given his form at Betis.
