Leeds United are looking to keep their fantastic Championship form going when they take on promotion rivals Sunderland.

Last weekend saw Leeds United crash out of the FA Cup against Millwall but the defeat wasn’t dwelled on, as the Whites thrashed Watford 4-0 on Tuesday.

That’s now six Championship games without conceding a goal for Daniel Farke’s side, who have won five of those matches by an aggregate score of 18-0.

The streak will come under threat when Leeds face Sunderland, a dangerous team full of exciting young forwards, who are still pushing to win the Championship title.

Leeds have suffered no fresh injury concerns but will continue to be without Patrick Bamford for at least another fortnight, while Max Wober is sidelined after undergoing knee surgery.

Farke said ahead of the match: “Surgery on Max was good. had it yesterday and went to plan. Doctors are happy with the outcome. We expect him to be back after the international break in March.

On Bamford, he said: “Sadly last days were not ideal. He will need another 10 days of individual training.

“Hopefully in a couple of weeks, he will be back. He needs to be there with the full ability to sprint. We expect him to join team training after the Sheffield United game.”

Prediction

Sunderland have shown themselves to be a real threat going forward and have several players that could cause problems.

But, Leeds are proving to be one of the best defensive outfits in the division and have their own quality in attack which should see them have enough to overcome the Black Cats.
