Illan Meslier has told BBC Radio Leeds has given his verdict on Leeds boss Javi Gracia after the Whites secured a third win in his sixth Premier League game on Tuesday night – hinting he hopes Gracia remains for “many games”.
Meslier, 23, clocked up his 121st outing for Leeds on Tuesday night but could not earn a sixth clean sheet of the season as Forest opened the scoring. But goals from Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra secured a crucial victory.
Gracia has 10 points from a possible 18 in the Premier League, just six games. In the previous 23 matches, Leeds only managed to clock up 19. So, clearly, Gracia has managed to turn things around at Leeds ahead of Palace.
Meslier was asked about Gracia in a recent press conference and praised his Spanish manager. He says Gracia makes it “easy” for the players to understand the way he wants to play – hoping he can remain for “many games”.
“He’s a top manager. He transmits calmness to his players. Rules, tactics are very clear. It is easy to understand. We play the way we want to play. Everyone’s on board, playing well. Hope to play like this for many games,” Meslier said.

It has been so much more calm under Gracia. The Leeds players look like they are playing without the weight that they had under Jesse Marsch. They look more organised, with a more-balanced approach – but with more freedom.
More confidence at least. The players look as though they are enjoying life under the ex-Watford manager and if it continues in the same vein, he more than deserves a permanent spell at Elland Road. The squad seem to want it.
