Ben Parker has told LS11 that Georginio Rutter said to him behind the scenes that he feels happier, and is settled at Leeds United now – having recently joined him on a trip to the Leeds Children’s Hospital.
Rutter scored his second goal of the season against Millwall on Sunday and really, should have netted a third in the 0-0 draw with Hull on Wednesday night. But the Frenchman looks so much happier at Leeds.
He is forming a partnership with Joel Piroe, and is close friends with Willy Gnonto and Cree Summerville. So, Rutter looks better than he ever has at Leeds even if he missed that one-on-one at Hull last night.
During this month’s international break, Rutter was accompanied by Parker and Jamie Shackleton as well as Leeds United Women’s stars Paige Williams and Rebekah Bass to the Leeds Children’s Hospital.
Parker shared just what Rutter was doing, including playing tig in the car park and making pizzas with the children. He also said that he asked Rutter if he felt happier, he was more settled. He responded.
“I love the guy. He’s so endearing. He visited the Leeds Children’s Hospital – he was there for two hours, playing tig in the car park, running around, sweating, making pizza, building fires with Jamie Shackleton.
“He’s so endearing, a big smile. I asked him if he felt more happy, more settled at Leeds and he said: ‘Yeah’. There’s no coincidence that when he’s feeling like that, we’re getting better performances.”

Rutter has been excellent. Yes, should have got a winner against Hull last night but he is getting himself in positions and looks a real threat. Creative too, laying on an assist for Piroe’s first on Sunday at Millwall.
While many will be of the opinion that it is about time, given the amount of cash spent on him, Rutter has still had to adapt to a new country, learn the language – which he has done quickly. He is still adapting.
