Andrea Radrizzani has bitten back at Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear after his comments this week.
Radrizzani sent a number of responses to Kinnear and Leeds supporters on his official Twitter account which he has now seemingly deactivated, with the Yorkshire Evening Post also having covered his outburst.
Kinnear provided a 90-minute long interview on the Square Ball earlier this week to address the failings of the last two years at Leeds.
The Leeds chief spoke about a range of topics including the infamous loan clauses, Radrizzani, Victor Orta and recruitment, with the former Whites owner clearly left unimpressed by some of Kinnear’s comments.
Radrizzani’s first response to the interview were regarding Kinnear’s comments on whether he should’ve sold the club earlier to the San Francisco 49ers Enterprises, who completed their full buyout in the summer.
Radrizzani bites back at Kinnear’s Leeds comments
The Italian claimed that Kinnear is in no position to judge how he invests his money. He said: “I don’t think is AK who made millions from working with me to judge how much money I have or can invest in football.
“Secondly just to clarify, even if I wanted I couldn’t sell any time before as I had to respect 49ers timing and process…”
Radrizzani then insisted that Kinnear should be the one taking ‘responsibility’ of the loan clauses, adding that is what he is paid to do.
He said: “And my good friend AK should have taken good responsibility of the contracts with exit clause which I have never read as for many other contracts and company. That’s why management is paid for!”
Despite those comments, Radrizzani did absorb some blame for the last couple of years but also remains adamant that he worked ‘wonders’ during his early few years at the club.
He said: “Mine too. First to be responsible for a failure. We all did a good job for few years, at the end it didn’t work. Now the club is in good hands and I am sure will bounce back soon stronger. In a few years these would be remembered as a phase to consolidate the club and make it bigger. Lets move on.
“We did wonders for a few years and (got) back to the Premier League after 16 years. Not too bad actually.”
As mentioned, Radrizzani has now deactivated his account on Twitter which is probably long overdue as he has had many social media outbursts over the years. Thankfully it is no longer Leeds‘ problem.
