West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan has delivered his verdict on Leeds United after his side’s 1-0 win last night.
Following the Boxing Day defeat at Preston North End, Leeds made it back-to-back losses for the first time under Daniel Farke after leaving the Hawthorns empty handed last night.
This was their sixth defeat on the road already this season with Leeds continuing to struggle against sides who are happy to sit back and defend deep, due to their lack of urgency in the final third.
Corberan was asked about the two first half penalty decisions that went against Leeds in his post-match press conference, but remained tight-lipped on giving any sort of opinion.
Instead, the former Leeds assistant opted to label some of Farke’s attacking options as ‘some of the best’ in the Championship after his side’s impressive clean sheet.

He said: “I don’t know because I didn’t see (any replays) yet. But I can tell you Leeds have some of the best players in the attacking area of the pitch. Hopefully the decisions were fair, because that’s what we always want.”
Leeds’ attack has been hailed as ‘unplayable’ at times this season but over the last couple of matches, it has looked a shadow of itself at its best.
Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville have both been criticised for their failure to attack the full-backs last night, while Joel Piroe was also anonymous once again, away from home.
Farke needs to find a way of unlocking teams who are content to just sit back and soak up the pressure, as time and time again, Leeds have proven they do not have the answers.
With the team Leeds have got, they should not be struggling this much away from home and so that is down to the manager.
