Leeds United will be desperate to get back to winning ways this weekend when they take on Portsmouth.

It’s been a great few weeks of results for Leeds United after dramatic, late victories against Sunderland and Sheffield United put them in the ascendency in the Championship title race.

However, Daniel Farke’s side suffered a slight slip last weekend when they were held to a draw by West Brom at Elland Road.

That allowed the Blades to shorten the gap at the top of the table and given they play first this weekend, they could move level on points with Leeds before they face Portsmouth.

So it’s crucial the Whites get the win and here is everything you need to know about the massive fixture.

Portsmouth vs Leeds United team news

Leeds didn’t appear to suffer any fresh injury concerns last week but remain without three important players.

Captain Ethan Ampadu will likely miss the rest of the season due to a cartilage problem that required surgery.

Farke is also likely to remain without Max Wober and Patrick Bamford but is hopeful Mateo Joseph will be fine after rolling his ankle against West Brom.

Predictions

Portsmouth have picked up 10 points in their last six matches and have enjoyed success at home in recent weeks, even picking up a draw against Burnley.

Additionally, Leeds have a bizarrely poor record in early kick-offs of late, which might be a bit concerning ahead of the match.

However, United are full of confidence and have more than enough quality to pick up a comfortable victory.

Prediction: Portsmouth 0-2 Leeds United.
