Leeds United face a swift return to Championship action as they host Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night.
The Whites will be looking to get back to winning ways after a disappointing 3-1 defeat at Southampton last Saturday, in which they found themselves 3-0 down after just 35 minutes.
Leeds had been in good form prior to that loss at St. Mary’s having gone five matches unbeaten, while also keeping four consecutive clean sheets.
A match against QPR will provide them with a good opportunity to bounce back instantly, as they currently sit 22nd in the Championship.
That said, Gareth Ainsworth’s side have been much stronger on the road this season, picking up seven of their eight points away from Loftus Road.
Prutton predicts Leeds vs QPR match
In his latest Sky Sports EFL predictions column, David Prutton has criticised Leeds for throwing in too many inconsistent performances like the one at Southampton.
However, the former Whites midfielder has backed his old side to come away with the three points at Elland Road, stating they will have too much for the visitors.
He said: “For all the talk of Leeds’ attacking prowess, they still throw in too many performances like the one against Southampton on Saturday. It is holding them back right now.
“It is a decent chance to bounce back on paper, but QPR are much better on the road than they are at home. Gareth Ainsworth can set up a side to frustrate superior opposition, but I still think Leeds should find a way through. Prediction: Leeds 2-0 QPR.“
Although it is still early in the season, this type of match is already getting into must-win territory given the form of some teams at the top.
Leicester City are already 11 clear of Leeds, while Ipswich Town also have a nine-point cushion and so Leeds cannot afford to drop points against a poor side like QPR.
