Leeds United’s full-backs will have their work cut out in training every day.
The Whites have arguably the best crop of wingers across the entire division and so marking them day in, day out at Thorp Arch should leave them well prepared for what they face on a matchday.
Junior Firpo has previously mentioned just how tough it can be stopping some of them in sessions and now Archie Gray has said the same, name dropping one in particular who is just so hard to tackle.
The majority of Leeds’ wingers enjoy playing just off the left flank, meaning it is Gray who will be coming directly up against them more often, and more specifically Crysencio Summerville.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Official Leeds United Podcast, Gray says Summerville is extremely difficult to mark not just because of his pace, but also his ability to go both ways.

He said: “With Cry, especially in training and stuff, I genuinely don’t know what he is going to do because he can do you either side. He’s so quick, he can just tap it down the line and get past you, he’s so nimble and agile. But then he can also come inside and put it top corner.”
Summerville is arguably the best winger in the Championship and so coming up against him daily is only going to be good preparation for Gray when it comes to actual matches.
The 22-year-old has 12 goals and seven assists in the league this season, with clear examples of him going both ways throughout the season, as Gray alluded to.
Gray is still very much primarily a central midfielder and it is where he sees himself playing long-term, but he certainly has grown into that right-back role since first playing there back in October.
There are only a handful of wingers who have managed to get the better of him consistently during a game, but if you can handle Summerville in training, you can handle anyone in the league.
