Leeds United loanee Brenden Aaronson’s start to life at Union Berlin has come in for severe criticism by the German media.
Moz.de has provided a rating for each of Union Berlin’s 10 new signings, with Aaronson labelled as one of ‘several losers’ from the season so far.
Aaronson was among a group of eight members of last season’s first team squad to leave Leeds on loan in the summer following relegation from the Premier League.
So far, each of them have had varying degrees of success, but it would be fair to say Aaronson is one of, if not the worst performer at their respective clubs.
Since picking up a red card during the second game of the season, Aaronson has started just one match across all competitions, of which he was hauled off at half-time.

According to the outlet, Aaronson’s lacks physically, has missed ‘several’ good goalscoring chances, and his dribbling ability is not creating anything of note.
It said: “The US national player should revive the offensive, especially with his own possession. Despite a good season preparation, Aaronson has not been able to meet this claim so far because he still lacks physical robustness. His dribbling strength rarely resulted in goal danger. In addition, Aaronson revealed considerable deficits in the completion of the goal. He missed several goal chances.”
Aaronson has clearly taken the terrible form he showed during the second half of last season into his new club, which is earning him scathing reviews.
If he continues in this manner, there is absolutely no chance Union Berlin will attempt to sign him permanently, which is bad news for Leeds.
For a number 10 to not have scored at club level since August 2022 is unthinkable and so next summer, Leeds may just have to cut their losses and sell him for significantly less than they bought him for.
