Diego Llorente has reacted to the news that Rasmus Kristensen has joined him in swapping Leeds United for a loan spell at Roma, with Llorente returning to Rome after spending the second half of 22-23 with Jose Mourinho’s side.

Llorente played 12 times for Roma after moving to the Europa League finalists in January. A couple of injuries and competition in the middle of the defence stopped him playing regularly. But, he decided to go back this summer.

The Spain star will be hoping to break into the side regularly next season, and could now be flanked by Kristensen. The duo only played together for half a season at Leeds after Kristensen joined last summer – and Llorente left.

Llorente was always set to go back to Roma – but it was not as certain for Kristensen. However, it was the right move for the Dane to go. Leeds ended the season, starting pre-season with three options on the right of defence.

Cody Drameh returns after helping Luton gain promotion. He has interest in him and his contract ends in June 2024, but the talented ace is set to remain. A wonderful addition. Luke Ayling has know how in the second tier of football.

So, Drameh has to stay – he is the future of our defence on the right. Ayling, he has experience and is likely to be okay with sitting on the bench as a rotational option. Kristensen had to be the one to go, and he has gone to Roma.
