Graham Smyth has reported on Twitter that Crysencio Summerville and Cody Drameh were missing from Thursday’s clash against Nottingham Forest due to injury – with Leeds star Summerville set to return from concussion protocol.
Leeds produced their best display of pre-season in their third game, after 2-0 losses to Manchester United and then Monaco last weekend. Leeds travelled to Burton Albion’s Pirelli Stadium to take on Forest, running out 2-0 winners.
Ethan Ampadu, Charlie Cresswell, Sam Byram, Jamie Shackleton and Joe Gelhardt were all included in the starting line-up. Luke Ayling played over Drameh. Luis Sinisterra and Dan James were out wide, with Summerville absent.
Patrick Bamford opened the deadlock and scored out first goal of pre-season with a confident, cheeky finish on 66 minutes. Then, Ian Poveda scored a second with his left foot. Smyth explained Drameh and Summerville’s absence.

With Hearts on the weekend, it will be interesting to see if both players will be available. Drameh sounds as if he will be, given his hamstring issue was only a week-long problem, from the loss to Monaco. But he might not be risked.
Summerville’s concussion protocol might be over, too. Drameh will be competing with Ayling and the belief is that he will be first choice on the right this season. Summerville is one of a number of options on the flanks this season.
Poveda was excellent on Thursday, as were James and Sinisterra. Jack Harrison is injured and Willy Gnonto remains on the comeback trail in terms of fitness. He could end up leaving. Plenty of competition for £13m ace Summerville.
