Graham Potter has told Friday’s press conference – as per Football London – that Chelsea could be missing Mason Mount and Reece James as well as Thiago Silva for Saturday’s clash against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

With the Blues struggling for form, Potter will have been desperate to have his best players available to him. But it seems that a number of players will be missing from the home clash against Leeds – joining others on the sidelines.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic were already definitely out of the game. But manager Potter says another five could join them. Silva has been ruled out for a number of weeks after an injury in the loss to Spurs.

Joining him is N’Golo Kante, who is back in training but needs more time. Edouard Mendy is “making progress” but Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to remain between the sticks. Now, Mount is definitely out, and James could join him.

“Thiago will be around six weeks. Mendy making progress. N’Golo had his first full session today but will need time. Mason has had a problem with his lower abdomen. He will miss the game tomorrow. Reece is a doubt tomorrow.”

Potter: Chelsea could be missing Mount and James against Leeds

With Leeds fighting for their lives and hoping for a bit more luck in West London than they were afforded in the FA Cup at Fulham on Tuesday night, the injuries will come as a boost to the Whites. Leeds need a repeat of the 3-0.

A win that saw fans really believe Jesse Marsch could produce something special. He has since been sacked and replaced by Javi Gracia. A Chelsea side without Silva, Kante, Mount and James could easily be beaten on Saturday.
