Javi Gracia has praised both Weston McKennie and Marc Roca after Leeds United’s win over Wolves, claiming that both players played very well at Molineux – in comments reported by Leeds Live.
Leeds have somehow picked up a huge three points ahead of the international break. It wasn’t pretty. It was very tense. But ultimately, Gracia has his second league win in four games. And it has sent Leeds flying up the table.

The result was particularly impressive because Leeds were without Tyler Adams. The American missed the game through injury. And whenever the 24-year-old has previously been unavailable, the Whites have struggled.
Gracia praises Roca and McKennie after Leeds win
There would have been a lot of intrigue about Roca and McKennie playing together. And they were set to be put under real pressure with the amount of quality Julen Lopetegui’s men possess in the middle of the park.

It was not perfect. But Gracia was happy with what he saw from both players in the dramatic victory.
“Weston and Marc played very well in those positions. Today, both played in my opinion at a very good level. If today we got this win it was because of the players playing well,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live.
Of course, Roca had a part to play in the goal which gave Wolves hope. However, he could not have imagined that Jonny would produce such an outrageous strike.
It was not an afternoon where anyone needed to be perfect. But we are at the stage where we simply need some significant points.
Obviously, we can tumble back down the table just as quickly. So it is too soon to get carried away. But there are some encouraging signs.
Too often under Jesse Marsch, we were playing well for spells of games, but coming away empty-handed.
Perhaps the performance was not the best on Saturday. But ultimately, the result matters a lot more at this stage of the campaign. And it takes a bit of pressure off the side on the occasions where we do well in the weeks ahead.
