CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has told Leeds United Ultras’ YouTube channel that the “good news” regarding the future of Tyler Adams at Elland Road, is that Leeds do not have to sell him – but will not stand in his way either.
Adams, 24, is expected to be one of a number of players that leaves Leeds in the coming weeks and months. Still sidelined with a hamstring injury after an operation, TeamTalk report that he has informed Leeds he would like to go.
Nottingham Forest, Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle and Aston Villa have all been linked with a move. The bottom line is, that the United States skipper will more than likely depart – with plenty of clubs ready to bring him in.
But Jacobs states that due to his contract – which he claims is worth north of £60,000 a week, until June 2027 – will allow Leeds to keep him if they desire to. Jacobs also states that they will not stand in his way if he does want to go.
“Leeds are not in a weak position with Adams, but there is a likelihood he will go. Leeds won’t stand in his way if he gets a great opportunity, it is my understanding he is contracted at the club until 2027,” Jacobs said this week.
“There is an opportunity to get him off the books in terms of his wages, he is earning more than £60,000 a week. The good news is that Leeds don’t have to sell – but if the right offer comes in, Leeds can control the situation.”

Adams is arguably, our best player. The captain of his country, and his absence in the last third of the season had a catastrophic effect on the defence. While we conceded goals with Adams in the team, we leaked them without him.
Adams is easily a Premier League player, and arguably a player that is good enough to play for a team in the top half of the table. So, convincing him to stick around for a year ahead of possible promotion, will be hard. Time will tell.
