Leeds United are doing extremely well at the moment, and one of the players who is starring for Daniel Farke’s side is Archie Gray.

Archie Gray is a midfielder by trade, but Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke has been playing him as a right-back.

Gray is only 17 now, but the way he has been performing for Leeds seems as though he is hugely experienced and has been playing for one of the biggest English clubs for years.

The England Under-20 international has made 32 starts and three substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season.

Gray has given two assists in those games. The teenager also made two appearances in the Carabao Cup and made two starts and one substitute appearance in Leeds this season.

Glen Kamara praises Leeds United teammate Archie Gray

Glen Kamara joined Leeds from Rangers in the summer of 2023, and the 28-year-old Finland international midfielder has been hugely impressed with Gray.

The Yorkshire Evening Post quotes Kamara as saying about Gray: “You’ve got Ethan filling in at centre-back, great player. Obviously Archie, don’t have to speak about him! He’s just a different breed, only, what 17/18.

“Ilia as well, really clicking well with him as well in midfield. But all of them three different kind of midfielders have got their own qualities and it works out really well.”

My View: Let us not put too much pressure on Archie Gray

While Leeds United fans should enjoy Archie Gray and be excited about him, I have to urge caution and patience over him.

Gray is in his breakthrough season and is only 17 years of age. He is just starting his career, and we have to be mindful of that.

We should not overhype Gray and must be careful not to get carried away too much. There will come a point when the youngster has a dip in form, and he will need support and patience during that period.
