Georginio Rutter was linked with a summer exit to the likes of Lyon and a return to Hoffenheim but the French talent has told Sky Sports that his “dream” right now, is to gain promotion with Leeds United.
Rutter, 21, has made a wonderful start to the 2023-24 season after struggling for the Whites in the first six months of his time at Leeds. But he looks so much more settled at Elland Road this time around.
He has four goals and assists in his seven Championship outings – royally teasing Watford’s midfield on Saturday to lay on a first goal for Jaidon Anthony. Leeds have climbed to sixth, losing only one in eight.
German newspaper Bild said Hoffenheim were keen on a loan return for Rutter. Sky Sports also claimed Borussia Dortmund saw a £25m offer rejected. Rutter is the attacking spearhead in our promotion push.

The Frenchman – who has not needed any lessons to learn English pretty fluently – gave an interview to Sky Sports this week about Leeds. He says his dream right now, is to get back into the Premier League.
“It’s [promotion] the target for everybody. We’ve had some good games. We have to continue in the way we did against the likes of Millwall and Watford. Mentality is key. We have to stay focused until the end.
“I don’t think about anything else,” Rutter added, during his chat with Sky Sports ahead of Saturday’s clash against Southampton. “My only dream right now is winning the Championship trophy with Leeds.”
Rutter says dream is to gain promotion with Leeds United

What a guy. He has not had it easy. The centre of criticism from some frustrated and aggravated fans last season. But he is a young lad, no experience of the Premier League – and unable to speak English.
It was almost impossible for Rutter to make an impression in a side that were constantly changing the man in the dugout. Also, a club fighting against relegation. Now, he has the platform to shine at Leeds.
In an attacking side, and given the game time by Daniel Farke – Rutter is finally showing why Victor Orta chose to spend what could turn out to be £36m, on Rutter. We have a serious talent on our hands.
