Georginio Rutter believes he had the best ever game of his career so far for Leeds United earlier this season.
Rutter has been one of Leeds’ best players this season but has not always found it easy since his move in January, with his real turning point coming around August, September time.
The 21-year-old has four goals and nine assists over the course of the campaign, with no player in the having provided more of the latter across the entire division.
But speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Rutter has revealed the Watford game back in September was the best performance of his career, with everything he tried coming off.
Rutter registered one of the assists of the season for Jaidon Anthony that day and also played a crucial role in Leeds’ opener. He believes both him and the stadium were ‘100% confident’ that day.
Rutter was unplayable that day
He said: “Against Watford was good, I think it was my best game ever. I feel like the stadium and me were 100% confident. I did something I never tried, but it came off, only one in 10 times. Sometimes I have confidence because of the stadium, everybody was waiting for something.”
It is hard to disagree with that as Rutter was absolutely unbelievable that day, with some of his skills leaving both teammates and pundits blown away.
Rutter had been showing signs of his ability in the weeks leading up to Watford, producing impressive, goalscoring displays at Ipswich Town and Millwall, but was not necessarily consisent.
However, since then, he has been able to build on that performance and some pundits now believe he is part of an ‘unplayable’ front line at Elland Road.
Hopefully Rutter is at his best when Leeds face Ipswich tomorrow as he could well get the space to perform in attack, which is where he thrives.
