Gary Neville has told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports that Leeds United are capable of beating Tottenham on the final day of the season – and believes Nottingham Forest should be worried given they face Arsenal and Palace.
With Leicester losing 3-0 to Liverpool on Monday night, we are now at a stage where four teams are fighting to end the season in 16th and 17th. Forest are in 16th, on 34. Everton in 17th, on 32. Leeds in 18th, on 31. Leicester in 19th.
Forest host Arsenal and go to Palace. Everton have a slightly easier run in, travelling to Wolves before welcoming Bournemouth. Leeds go to West Ham after a European semi-final on Thursday, before facing an inconsistent Spurs.
Leicester look in real trouble, taking on Newcastle away and then West Ham at home. Neville – having looked at the remaining fixtures – thinks Leeds can beat Spurs, and admits he is concerned for Forest in the fight to survive.

“I don’t think 34 will be enough [to survive],” Neville said. “One point might do it for Forest. We’ve seen madness in the last few weeks haven’t we. Bournemouth, what happened with Everton at Brighton. I don’t like Forest’s games.
“Everton’s games are good. Leeds will fancy their chances enormously against Tottenham at home. Arsenal have still got massive quality, they’ll make it difficult for Forest. I don’t think they win at Palace. I’ve worried about them.
“For three or four months, now. Their games, I don’t like. I think Everton will win one of their games, I think Leeds can beat Tottenham at home. I think it is between Leicester and Forest, now,” Neville said, on Sky Sports.

It is a glimmer of hope for Leeds. Of course, Liverpool’s win over Leicester is a big help, too. Leicester have two very tough games and you would imagine that the Foxes are almost done, given they are still on 30 – four behind Forest.
Leeds are only a point from safety after a spirited display against Everton. A trip to West Ham, with the Hammers facing AZ Alkmaar in Holland on Thursday night is a chance, and then Spurs at home. Leeds have a real chance.
