Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed he is supporting Leeds United in tonight’s play-off semi-final second leg against Norwich City and has explained to Alan Brazil why.

The whole season comes down to tonight’s clash between Leeds and David Wagner’s Canaries at Elland Road. The Whites will be favourites after avoiding defeat in the first leg, away from home at Carrow Road.

Leeds will be confident tonight after garnering some momentum from Sunday’s 0-0 draw. A game that saw Leeds look so much more solid after Daniel Farke’s men had kept one clean sheet in their last eight.

A string of four defeats in their last six games before Sunday’s first leg with The Whites losing out in the race for automatic promotion to Kieran McKenna’s excellent Ipswich Town side, who finished in second.

Aston Villa icon Agbonlahor has become renowned for his mocking of Leeds in recent seasons, whether it be Villa beating Leeds or teasing Danny Mills with posts on his Instagram page but tonight is different.

Indeed, Agbonlahor told TalkSPORT (Thursday, 8.35AM) that he will be supporting Leeds against Norwich tonight and explained to presenter Alan Brazil why that is the case. Here is what he said:

Agbonlahor explains why he is supporting Leeds tonight

Leeds will be without Patrick Bamford with the one-time England man seemingly unable to recover from to his knee picked up in the 4-3 win over Middlesbrough, keeping him out for the last three matches.

Norwich could also be without two key strikers after Wagner stated that Ashley Barnes is unlikely to shake off a calf issue, while USA star Josh Sargent came off the field of play on Sunday with a knock to his ankle.

Agbonlahor explains why he wants Leeds to win against Norwich tonight: “I’m supporting Leeds tonight. You know why I will be supporting Leeds Al, I’ve got a soft spot for Leeds and Ipswich, Norwich’s rivals.”

Dom Matteo gives his prediction for Leeds clash v Norwich

Matteo has spoken ahead of tonight’s clash and believes that if Leeds can get themselves defensively solid as they were on Sunday, and have been for much of the season, then Leeds will pick up a victory.

Kevin Blackwell, a former Leeds manager that saw his Leeds side lose in the play-off finals in 2005-06, is also confident that Leeds will beat Norwich and thinks that Wembley will actually suit Farke’s Leeds side.

An early goal will really help Leeds get the fans onside and go on to win the game. Ultimately, it is going to be another cagey affair like Sunday and the first goal will play a massive part in the eventual result.
