AC Milan have cooled their interest in Leeds United winger Luis Sinisterra with a move now described as ‘further away’ than earlier this season.
That is according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti, who in an interview with Siti News, named Sinisterra as one of three players he would like to see join Milan this summer, before then seemingly hinting their interest was no more.
Sinisterra was on the radar of Milan earlier this season with Pellegatti revealing in September they had sent scouts to watch him play after a great season with Feyenoord saw him make the switch to Leeds.
The Colombian’s future at Elland Road beyond this summer remains uncertain following Leeds’ relegation to the Championship, with a mass exodus expected.
While Sinisterra is someone likely to attract plenty of interest, San Francisco 49ers Enterprises are reportedly desperate to keep him for a promotion push.
Milan cool interest in Sinisterra
With Rafael Leao having signed a new long-term deal at the San Siro, it is difficult to see Milan pursuing a move for Sinisterra given they play the same position.
Milan are not exactly blessed with endless pots of money to spend and you would think they will prioritise other positions before the left wing.
And according to Pellegatti, that appears as though it is something Milan will do. He said: “I’d like on the right or left flank a quick player like Sinisterra from Leeds. Although he seems a bit further away now.”
If Leeds are able to keep a player of Sinisterra’s quality for the Championship then a push for an immediate return to the Premier League would be more than possible.
Scoring five goals in just 13 Premier League starts last season, Sinisterra would be more than capable of hitting 30 goals/assists in the second tier.
A frontline that includes the likes of him, Georginio Rutter, Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville really is a frightening prospect.
