Weston McKennie was everywhere on Tuesday night as Leeds United beat Nottingham Forest to jump up into 13th place in the league – and after Leeds United’s official account shared McKennie’s touch map his Father responded.
McKennie, 24, was excellent and arguably produced his best performance for Leeds since joining the club from Juventus on loan until the end of the season – with the option of staying. If Leeds stay up, he is expected to sign.
The USA star has now clocked up 11 appearances for Leeds since his move from Juventus, and that is likely to be 12 come Sunday – when we play host to Crystal Palace. Already important to the team, Tyler Adams has had surgery.
So, it is likely that McKennie is going to start the rest of our nine Premier League games between now and the end of the season. That is hardly going to dampen McKennie’s energy or stamina – as his touch map showed this week.
Leeds share Weston McKennie touch map, father responds on Twitter
As the touch map shows, he was literally everywhere – mostly on the right of the pitch given Marc Roca was playing on the left of the double pivot. It worked to good effect, Leeds dominated proceedings in the middle of the park.
If the Leeds board needed convincing to spend the £30m fee to sign McKennie permanently in the summer, then the win over Forest was the perfect proof. McKennie was excellent and is growing with every game in a Leeds shirt.
His Father, John, is active on Twitter and he responded to the touch map, after Leeds posted the image. He says he cannot wait to come and see McKennie produce as such in person – suggesting he will be in attendance at Leeds.
