Jaidon Anthony will travel up north today after his move to Leeds United from Bournemouth.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who provided the update on Twitter earlier this morning after Leeds completed a beat-the-deadline deal to sign him.
Anthony was part dramatic late deal that saw Luis Sinisterra move the other way on a season-long-loan, who had reportedly threatened legal action over the release clause in his contract, as per Phil Hay.
Leeds opted to sanction a late deal for Sinisterra to avoid going into a possible legal battle, but were clearly keen to ensure a replacement was also brought in.
Given the time of which the deal occurred, Leeds had no time to agree a deal for someone elsewhere, and eventually managed to ensure Anthony came the other way as part of it.
Anthony to travel to Leeds today
Given how the deal panned out, it appears as though it was a major rush to get Anthony over the line.
Anthony wasn’t even able to travel to Leeds last night to complete the usual media work that comes with announcing a signing, and it also begs the question as to whether he had a medical.
The 23-year-old undoubtedly arrives at a difficult time as ultimately, it is going to be hard to replace a player of Sinisterra’s quality at this level.
However, he does have a decent record at this level and in the season Bournemouth went up, he scored eight goals and provided seven assists.
With both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville having stayed at Elland Road, Leeds still one of the best crop of wingers in the division and Anthony will certainly add to that.
