Fabrizio Romano says PL club have now agreed deal to sign Leeds player, he wants the move

Bournemouth have agreed to meet Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams’ £20 million release clause.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who reports Bournemouth are now ‘optimistic’ of completing a deal with Adams ‘keen’ on a move to the South Coast.

Adams had been on the verge of joining Chelsea at the end of last week until they opted to pull the plug at the 11th hour despite the fact he had undergone a medical.

The Blues instead opted to use the money elsewhere in pursuits of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, with the former having now been confirmed and the latter set to follow.

Premier League clubs became alerted to Adams’ availability after his failed Chelsea move, and Bournemouth have now decided to activate his release clause.

As per the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier today, Leeds remained hopeful of keeping Adams this summer but it appears as though that will be short lived.

Adams is the latest of a long list of last season’s first team squad set to depart, following the likes of Jack Harrison, Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson and Robin Koch.

The 24-year-old, though, will be the first proper fee Leeds receive for a player with the majority of their departees so far having left on loan.

It will be yet another blow Bournemouth have delivered to Leeds this summer, having hijacked the Whites’ move for Max Aarons last week.

That said, Leeds can now hopefully use the funds expected to come from Adams’ exit on rebuilding the squad.
