Everton are now set to complete the signing of Arnaut Danjuma, which could end their pursuit of Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees have had a loan bid accepted by Villarreal for Danjuma, with the player having accepted Everton as his next destination after turning his back on a move in January.
Danjuma had completed a medical and media duties at Everton earlier this year but instead ended up at Tottenham Hotspur after an 11th hour hijack.

Romano adds that communication has remained open between the two parties since then, though, and Danjuma is now finally set to become an Everton player.
This could be excellent news for Leeds’ chances of keeping Gnonto, who plays in the same position as Danjuma on the left-hand side of attack.
Everton set to sign Danjuma, could end Gnonto pursuit
According to journalist Alan Myers, Everton are expecting to complete another signing before the weekend on top of Danjuma.
However, Myers has confirmed that will not be Gnonto and does not believe Everton will return for the player now Danjuma is all but done.

This is excellent news for Leeds with speculation once again ramping up, particularly from Italy, that a deal to prise Gnonto to Goodison Park is close.
Everton are still hamstrung financially this summer and it would undoubtedly be a strange move to sign two top players in the same position when they have priorities elsewhere.
Of course, that does not guarantee Gnonto will still be at Leeds at the end of August, but this is certainly a boost to their chances of keeping him.
