Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Birmingham City have completed the signing of Leeds United ace Cody Drameh on loan until the end of the season – with the inclusion of a permanent option.

Drameh, 21, has fallen down the pecking order at Leeds, becoming surplus to requirements after Leeds signed Djed Spence on loan from Tottenham Hotspur. It sees him reunite a third time with Joe Rodon.

With Luke Ayling making a decent start to the campaign and Drameh only managing two sub displays, it was clear that Drameh needed a move. What is interesting, is that his contract is due to expire in 2024.

He joins Birmingham City and reunites with Tyler Roberts – after the Wales star made the move to The Midlands club on a permanent basis earlier this summer. Romano reported the news on Firday morning.

Romano: Birmingham City complete signing of Leeds ace Drameh

What a coup for Birmingham City. The Tom Brady effect coming in strong. Drameh is a player with the potential to be a regular in the Premier League in years to come – links with numerous top-flight sides.

Phil Hay said recently that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Championship promotion rivals Southampton were all looking at Drameh. Now, he is off to the Blues – a third Championship loan spell.

As stated earlier, it is an intriguing one that Drameh will be on loan with an option. It is originally claimed that his contract is due to expire at the end of the season – but maybe, Leeds have the option to extend.

That might take his contract to June 2025, and force a club – like Birmingham in this case – to pay for a permanent move at the end of the season. Drameh is off to Birmingham then, as deadline day kicks off.
