Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leeds United are one of a number of clubs looking to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut, after he impressed on loan at Sunderland last season – alongside striker Joe Gelhardt.
Michut, 20, joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from PSG last summer after making a handful of senior outings with the Ligue 1 champions. He played 28 times in league and cup for the Black Cats – but chose not to keep him.
GFFN claim Sunderland had an option to sign Michut permanently for just £2.2m – but having failed to break into the side as a starting option, he has gone back to PSG. The France U19 star has two years left on his contract at PSG.
Now, Leeds are interested. Romano says Leeds want to bring him back to England, having played with Gelhardt – who also spent time on loan at Sunderland last season. It is unclear how much cash PSG are requesting for him.

Leeds need midfield additions. Despite the signing of Ethan Ampadu, the Whites could also do with more of an attacking midfielder, one who can get forward and score or assist from the no.6, or no.8 position. Michut is that.
What Leeds must be wary about is that he hardly tore up trees while at Sunderland. There is no doubt he is an exciting star, having broken into PSG’s XI eight times. There were glimpses on Wearside, but not on a regular basis.
If PSG are willing to send him out for £2.2m last season to Sunderland, you would imagine the price is likely to have reduced. Perhaps, Leeds could pick him up for a nominal £2m fee this summer – and he would provide solid cover.
