Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leeds United are set to complete the signings of both Ilia Gruev and Glen Kamara with both travelling to Thorp Arch to undergo medicals later on today, ahead of moves.

Gruev, 23, emerged as a target on Wednesday. The Bulgaria star has impressed at Werder Bremen of late, helping them gain promotion to the Bundesliga and retaining his place in their midfield last term.

It looks as if he is now keen on a move to Leeds, having missed Werder training on Wednesday. With Kamara, it looks like Leeds will sign the Rangers man after all – he has been linked for the entire summer.

Finally, it seems Leeds are going to hang their hat on the Finland ace. Romano reports that both players will be at Leeds later on today to undergo medicals. Gruev is due to cost Leeds a figure of around £5.1m.

Romano: Gruev and Kamara to undergo Leeds medicals today

Well, as soon as things were starting to become a bit of a worry – two medicals pencilled in for this afternoon and evening. Is it ideal? Well, Gruev and a no.10, or Kamara and a no.10, would be perfect.

Both players are more renowned for their passing and defensive work in front of the back four. Gruev, certainly. Both can play as a 6 alongside Ethan Ampadu. Maybe, it frees up Archie Gray in the 10 role.

But, Leeds should also be looking at bringing in a new attacking midfielder – especially, with the exit of Sam Greenwood to Middlesbrough. Nadiem Amiri and Matt O’Riley are names that have been linked.
