Bradley Johnson has heaped praise on Leeds United star Glen Kamara following our 3-1 win over Swansea City on Wednesday – branding the Finland star a “destroyer”, applauding his work rate.
While the plaudits will go to goalscorers Joel Piroe, Dan James and Georginio Rutter – the latter of which also got an assist after his truly spectacular goal – the midfield of Kamara, and Ethan Ampadu, was key.
Ampadu got an assist for Rutter’s goal with a wonderful 50-yard pass. Kamara, meanwhile, was on fire – proving effective in both boxes as he has done since breaking into the starting line-up at Elland Road.
Kamara and Ampadu have formed a wonderful midfield pair over the last couple of months. So much so, that the in-form Archie Gray has been ushered out to right-back – through no fault of the teen’s doing.

Ex-Leeds star Johnson told BBC Radio Leeds after the match that Kamara deserved praise for his work rate. He says the ex-Rangers man has an “engine on him”, raving about his partnership with Ampadu.
“Kamara’s the destroyer if you like. He’s got an engine on him. He was everywhere tonight. Pressing from the front, getting back, making tackles. I think they complement each other. Both good players.”
Bradley Johnson heaps praise on Leeds United star Glen Kamara
Kamara is becoming one of those underrated players in a team that every side needs, but his work does often go under-appreciated. He keeps things simple but as Johnson says, he is absolutely everywhere.
His ability to transition, which was crucial in Rangers’ run to the Europa League final in 2021, is proving important. Connecting the midfield to attack, from the defence to duo Joel Piroe or Georginio Rutter.
A crucial cog in this side and he is almost becoming one of those players that is now undroppable. In Ampadu, Leeds have the perfect no.4 – maybe the best in the league. Kamara is the perfect partner.
