Leeds United’s contract decisions over the coming months are made all the more harder by the fact they do not know what division they will be playing in next season.
Daniel Farke‘s side are currently locked in an automatic promotion battle with a host of sides including Sheffield United and Burnley. Just like last season, it looks like it could go to the wire.
One on hand, Leeds will not want to offer out new contracts to players they do not feel are capable of making the step up to the Premier League.
On the other, they could still prove extremely useful in the Championship. Players whose deals are up in the summer also have the ability to negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs.
With some big decisions to be made in the coming months, here is a look at when every Leeds player’s contract is due to expire.

Leeds are pretty secure for those players with contracts expiring in 2027 and beyond but there are several decisions that will need making in the coming months.
Firpo, Byram and Guilavogui are the most immediate and on paper, it is only really the former who looks like he could stay. Leeds aren’t in a rush to decide on Firpo, and it will depend on how this season pans out.
Byram may get another year if Leeds remain in the Championship, while Guilavogui will almost certainly go regardless.
In 2026 is when things get a little more difficult. Dan James is the one who deserves a new contract the most, but amid question marks over his ability to step up to the Premier League, they may hold off.
Meslier, Bamford, Gyabi and Greenwood are all players who could and should go before it gets to the point they can leave on a free. Darlow and Cairns are both experienced backup goalkeepers and so their futures will depend on whether they want to go elsewhere and play regularly.
