Everton now ready to make move for £15m striker wanted by Leeds

Everton are now ready to make a move for Leeds United-linked striker Che Adams.

That is according to the Sun, who report that Sean Dyche is keen to prise Adams to Goodison Park this summer, but Southampton could demand around £15 million.

As per Team Talk earlier in the window, Leeds remain interest in signing Adams, who has been a long-term target at Elland Road since January 2020.

Leeds again tried to the 26-year-old in the winter window earlier this year, but Southampton were reluctant to let him leave to a direct relegation rival.

Given his current contract situation, Southampton may allow him to move on this summer, though, as they look to reshape their squad to fit new manager Russell Martin.

Everton now set to make Adams move

Leeds’ hopes of landing Adams are likely to have taken a blow following relegation, with three Premier League sides including Everton keen.

Nottingham Forest and Burnley are also said to be interested in Adams, who scored 10 goals across all competitions despite the Saints’ struggles.

Adams has an excellent record at Championship level and if Leeds were able to bring him to Elland Road, he would be a good addition at this level.

Again, though, there are doubts whether Southampton would want to sell to a direct rival, and if indeed Adams would even choose Leeds ahead of Premier League interest.

If the Saints are able to sell Adams for £15 million, then Leeds need to take a leaf out of their book when it comes to moving players on this summer.
