Portuguese outlet O Jogo claim Sporting Lisbon want to raid Leeds United for winger Luis Sinisterra despite the Colombian returning to action on Saturday and scoring in our 4-3 win over Ipswich Town.

Sinisterra, 24, scored his eighth goal for Leeds on Saturday – after netting seven during 22 games for the Whites last term. But it does come after refusing to play, training away from the team this month.

He has now returned, and his goal has helped place a plaster over the wound. A few more goals, and the scar will be fully healed. But, there is still the chance of an Elland Road exit before Friday’s deadline.

That is because Sporting are keen on reinforcing their side ahead of a Europa League campaign after qualifying for the group stages. Sinisterra has emerged as a late target, described as “explosive”.

It will come as little surprise that clubs are interested in signing Sinisterra. He is a player that has proven he has quality far above the Championship. But as every day passes, Leeds are closer to keeping him.

If the Whites can keep Sinisterra before the deadline on Friday, it will be an incredible bit of business. He is a cheat code in the Championship. With no uncertainty over his future, he will only get better for us.

So, keeping him at Elland Road is paramount but the lure of European football with Sporting will surely be tempting for Sinisterra. A weird full-circle moment, where Sinisterra joins one of Raphinha’s old sides.

The player he was supposed to replace at Leeds, as Raphinha left to join Barcelona. Leeds have got to do everything within their power to keep Sinisterra. With a few days left in the window, it looks likely.
