Ethan Ampadu says Leeds United teammate is so good at a skill Daniel Farke no longer lets him utilise

Anton Stach has impressed Ethan Ampadu since his arrival at Leeds in July.

The Germany international has stood out following a £17.4m switch from Hoffenheim, netting a wonderful free-kick in the win at Wolves, and also impressing with his bravery to win the header for Lukas Nmecha to score against Aston Villa.

Ethan Ampadu actually opted to highlight another skill of his when speaking to the Premier League about Anton Stach – but it is one he no longer gets to show off as much at Leeds.

Ethan Ampadu says Anton Stach is the best crosser at Leeds United

A number of skills were put to the Leeds No.4 by the Premier League, and he was asked to name one Leeds or Wales teammate he feels is the best at it.

When crossing was mentioned, Ampadu quickly said with no hesitation: “Anton. He can whip one in.”

Daniel Farke seems to disagree. Stach did start the season taking corners for Leeds, but he has since been replaced by Sean Longstaff – who is striking up a strong partnership with Joe Rodon from these situations.

Nobody can really argue with the decision in that respect – despite what Ampadu thinks – as long as the £12m signing from Newcastle continues to trouble opponents with his deliveries.

After all, Stach is 6ft 4in and an immense physical presence, so it is better for Leeds to have him challenging defenders in the box anyway – as evidenced by his assist for Nmecha against Aston Villa.

Both Stach and Longstaff are injured – with the latter even expected to miss around six weeks due to a calf problem.

Does he start when he's fit again?

It means Farke needs to find a new corner taker for the trip to Manchester City – at least – and we feel the German will turn to Gabriel Gudmundsson.

The Swede took some corners earlier this season before Longstaff found his rhythm, so we can see the £10m signing from Lille entrusted with the responsibility until Stach returns from his concussion.
