‘Electric’ Leeds player shares training footage from Dubai as work continues away from Elland Road

Daniel Farke appears to have given his non-international Leeds United players some time away to recharge the batteries.

Leeds once again have the highest number of players in the Championship away on international duty this month despite Ethan Ampadu, Manor Solomon, Dan James, Max Wober and Ilia Gruev all being out with injuries.

Farke is clearly keen to ensure those not injured or with their respective countries have the chance to full recover, with Leeds once again in action in the Friday night match when the season restarts.

Leeds are set to welcome Sheffield United to Elland Road and already could be without Brenden Aaronson due to USA’s second match not taking place until the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Junior Firpo, Ao Tanaka, Wilfried Gnonto and Mateo Joseph are also in action on Tuesday, meaning they also face extremely tight turnarounds.

Largie Ramazani shows off work away from Leeds

In Leeds’ last game after an international break against Burnley, they understandably produced a leggy, lethargic performance.

That was also the case after the break in March at Watford, and so clearly Farke wants to avoid a repeat of that by ensuring some of his squad at least have some opportunity to get some proper rest.

It is ridiculous from Sky Sports to have selected Leeds to play on a Friday night with having so many internationals. There is never a Premier League game at that time after an international break for a reason.

However, despite Farke’s wish for them to get some rest, Largie Ramazani has showed off some of his hard work on his Instagram story over in Dubai.

Ramazani has shared footage working alongside a specialised strength and conditioning coach based in Dubai, who specialises in making athletes ‘more explosive’, according to his bio.

Pace and explosiveness are among the ‘electric‘ Ramazani’s best attributes and so to see him working on this shows just how determined he is to keep improving.

What Daniel Farke has told Ramazani to improve at Leeds

Ramazani has made a very promising start to life at Leeds with two goals and an assist in his first four starts.

However, in three of those, Ramazani has been brought off some time before the end, with Farke suggesting he needs to improve when it comes to working back defensively.

He said: “He’s improving, that’s for sure, he came from a side with a different football culture. It’s never easy when you’re relegated to the second-tier and not always involved due to bookings and injuries, it wasn’t the easiest pre-season for him.

“I have to say I’m impressed, in the beginning my first impression was of his potential but also his physicality needs to have some improvement. We worked hard with him, he’s improving from day to day and I’m pretty pleased he already has a deep impact with the end product – two goals and one assist.

“This was a question in La Liga, how many goals or assists he can deliver. Also his defensive work, he can be pretty stable and good in terms of defending but there are still improvements to make. Norwich’s first goal, for example, we could avoid the winger cutting inside, we need to improve that.

“He can cover more distance but we’re speaking to him on this and I’m pleased he is capable of making it in the starting line-up. Three games in six days was never the plan but if he’s really capable it would be massive. I’m pleased with the progress he’s making and the minutes are beneficial for him. Hopefully he can have a good impact on Friday night.”
