Leeds United host Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, in what should be a fierce battle between two top six hopefuls in the Championship.

Middlesbrough make the three-hour round trip to Elland Road on Tuesday night, with both Boro and Leeds United looking for three points to solidify their spot in the Championship‘s top six.

Although it’s still early doors this season, Daniel Farke’s Whites are looking more and more like title contenders in the second tier, with Leeds United beating Derby County 2-0 in their last outing.

Middlesbrough meanwhile drew away at Burnley. Michael Carrick’s side have lost just one of their last six in the league whilst Leeds have lost two of their last six, winning the remaining four.

Ahead of Tuesday night, Farke has revealed an injury for Leeds United’s Junior Firpo whilst Ethan Ampadu might be eyeing some minutes against Boro after returning to the bench for Derby Count last weekend.

Sam Parkin’s Leeds United vs Middlesbrough score prediction with ‘five-goal thriller’ expected

Speaking on the Championship Check-In, former EFL striker-turned Sky Sports commentator and EFL pundit Sam Parkin shared his score prediction for the Leeds United and Middlesbrough clash.

He said: “This could be anything. Boro smashed them there [Elland Road] in the league cup… I watched that one.

“Leeds had just conceded three goals to Pompey, the previous weekend. So that was a real difficult spell for them, conceded seven, and the kind of knives were out a little bit, for Daniel Farke and the side.

“So I’m going to go for, five-goal thriller, Leeds 3-2.”

Leeds United vs Middlesbrough H2H, what was their last result?

Like Parkin says, Middlesbrough thumped Leeds United in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, winning 3-0 away at Elland Road in August.

That was the last time the two teams met. But the last time they met in the Championship, it was a different story.

Leeds United won 4-3 at Middlesbrough back in April, with Crysencio Summerville scoring a brace on the day, with Leeds also winning the last league fixture between the two at Elland Road; a 3-2 win for the Whites in December 2023.

In fact, Leeds have won their last two home games against Middlesbrough and are unbeaten against them at Elland Road since 2011.

The game on Tuesday night kicks off at 8pm and will be available to watch live on Sky Sports.
