Sam Parkin has shared his prediction for Leeds United’s return to Championship action away at Swansea City.
The Whites will have gone 15 days without a match upon kick-off in South Wales after another busy international break for many of Daniel Farke‘s squad.
However, with the game not being until Sunday, Leeds have plenty of time to recover at Thorp Arch and be ready, which will be particularly useful for Ao Tanaka and Brenden Aaronson, who were in action on the other side of the world.
Leeds sit third in the Championship heading into the 16th gameweek of the season and come up against a Swansea side they defeated 4-0 on the road back in February.
Wilfried Gnonto (2) and Joel Piroe were both on the scoresheet that night, but having conceded just 10 goals all season, it would be fair to say Swansea have tightened up at the back since then.
Parkin predicts Swansea vs Leeds result
Despite Swansea’s impressive record at the back, Leeds certainly come into this one as favourites, but need to improve their form on the road if they are to take three points.
Leeds have won just two of their seven matches away from Elland Road this season, both of which have come against sides near the bottom in Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday.
That said, Leeds’ impressive defensive record does look like it could be too much for a Swansea attack that have scored the lowest number of goals in the division.
Ultimately, the onus will be on Leeds to ensure they can break the home side down and EFL pundit Parkin has shared his prediction ahead of the game.
He believes Leeds will be too strong for the Swans and after initially tipping a scoreline of 2-0, does think it could be slightly closer.
He said: “I was gonna go the exact same [2-0] but I will give Swansea a goal and say 2-1.”
Daniel Farke should make two changes to Leeds XI
It doesn’t appear as though Farke has any fresh injury concerns to contend with heading into this one, but he will confirm in his presser this afternoon.
However, there are a couple of changes he could make from the win over QPR last time out, the first of which is in defence.
Junior Firpo is serving the second of a three-match ban and instead of Sam Byram starting at left-back, Max Wober should be brought in.
Dan James should then come in on the wing for Manor Solomon to face his former club.
