Tony Dorigo was left amazed by the goalline block from Max Wober during the first-half of Leeds United’s draw with Manchester United on Wednesday, telling LUTV that it was an incredible save from the defender.
Leeds picked up a brilliant point away at Old Trafford this week. The Whites will be gutted that they did only draw after leading 2-0. However, they can take a number of positives from the performance as they now look to drag themselves out of danger.

Certainly, all of the players can be proud of their displays in the draw. All of them stepped up with colossal efforts. And that definitely bodes well if we can now make the right managerial appointment.
Dorigo amazed by Wober block
One player who has been superb for several games now is Wober. The 25-year-old has quickly established himself as the most important figure in the backline. He has been a revelation at centre-back.

And he came to Leeds’ rescue during the first-half against Manchester United. Alejandro Garnacho was played in and managed to take the ball around Illan Meslier.
However, when the forward attempted to lift the ball into the net, Wober was there to head the chance away. Remarkably, he had been about 10 yards behind Garnacho when Meslier was beaten.
And Dorigo was full of praise for the way the defender came to Leeds’ rescue.
“Incredible. Wober, take a bow. I tell you what, that was brilliant defending back on line and made sure he got in the way. Garnacho just gets the better of our defence. But great stop,” he told LUTV.
Wober has now made seven appearances for Leeds in all competitions. And yet, he already appears to be the most integral member of the backline.
He reads the game so well. And it is probably not a coincidence that the likes of Robin Koch and Junior Firpo have produced a couple of their best displays for the club in the weeks since the Austrian arrived.
His challenge now is to keep this form going. But certainly, the early signs suggest that Leeds produced a masterstroke bringing him to Elland Road.
