Don Hutchison has told ESPN FC that he caught a glimpse of the Leeds United owners and directors during the 6-1 loss to Liverpool on Monday night – and he thought they looked “embarrassed” and “shocked” at the goals let in.
It was embarrassing. The first 30 minutes was good. Solid, looked to slow Liverpool down. The Reds hardly had a chance. But then, it was as if Leeds got too confident and tried to come out of their shell – and left gaps in behind.
Leeds can argue Trent Alexander-Arnold handled, but if Junior Firpo sorts his first touch out then there is no issue. Illan Meslier did not cover his near post after Weston McKennie lost the ball – and the rest are just embarrassing.
Yes, Luis Sinisterra scored. But Leeds had already given up even after that goal. No hunger, no fight, no identity. Hutchison said he glanced towards the Leeds directors box – and noticed they were embarrassed and shocked.

“As the goals went in, the cameras panned in to the Leeds owners. They were quite embarrassed and shocked at the goals going in. I think Javi Gracia could be in trouble. The last couple of games tell me they’re going down.”
Hutchison says Leeds owners embarrassed and shocked at goals let in
It was embarrassing, and it was a mess. But the owners and directors are equally to blame for this shambles as Javi Gracia and the players are. Indeed, Gracia has done a good job on the whole – but he seriously needs results.
Fulham away and Leicester at home – Leeds need four points. Especially, with a tricky trip to Bournemouth and then the likes of Newcastle, Manchester City and Spurs in the final four games of the season. Leeds really need a win.
