Dominic Calvert-Lewin has proved to be a shrewd signing since joining Leeds United on a free transfer from Everton last summer.

The striker joined the Whites ahead of the 2025-26 season and has since played a key role in helping Daniel Farke’s side secure their place in the Premier League for another season.

Calvert-Lewin has bagged 14 goals in 34 Premier League appearances for Leeds United this season, with the latest coming in the 1-0 victory over Brighton on Sunday.

Are Leeds seeing the best version of Dominic Calvert-Lewin? 😮‍💨

What a signing he's turned out to be.

Calvert-Lewin did not expect this from Leeds United

Having played the final home game of the season, Calvert-Lewin has reflected on his first season at the Yorkshire-based club.

The England international admitted that the scale of the Leeds United fanbase had genuinely taken him by surprise since making the move from Everton.

Whether out in the city or further afield, Calvert-Lewin says the Whites faithful are everywhere, and in far greater numbers than he had ever anticipated when he put pen to paper on his move to Elland Road.

He went on to claim that he has been relishing playing under the pressure from the sheer weight of support, determined to prove himself week in, week out.

Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, he said: “There’s way more Leeds fans than what I anticipated actually in joining. When you’re out and about, there are Leeds fans everywhere.

“I knew it was a big club anyway, but I like that expectation. I like that pressure. And I like to perform and prove.”

GIVE DANIEL FARKE A NEW DEAL, NOW!

Leeds United are mathematically safe from relegation.

What next season holds

With Leeds United avoiding relegation and the Elland Road expansion gathering real momentum off the pitch, the club appear to be building toward something genuinely exciting.

It is safe to say that Paraag Marathe and the 49ers Enterprises are righting Andrea Radrizzani’s wrongs, and they deserve due credit.

Meanwhile, there is a decision to be made regarding Farke, whose existing deal runs out at the end of next season.

Leeds United fans will hope that tying Farke down to a new deal will be at the top of the owners’ priority list ahead of the summer transfer window.

As for Calvert-Lewin, he will hope to build on a fruitful debut season with the Whites.
