‘Doesn’t feel fair’: Leeds player posts on Instagram as he waits for first PL start

Crysencio Summerville came off the bench against Arsenal on Sunday and had a golden chance to equalise โ€“ blazing an effort over the bar from eight yards and now, the Leeds United man has taken to Instagram following the 1-0 loss.

Summerville, 20, is getting a decent amount of game time this season โ€“ albeit from the bench. He has come on in five of Leedsโ€™ Premier League matches, even getting the best part of 30 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

Against Arsenal, he was agonisingly close to opening his Leeds account. He also played the entire 90 minutes of Leedsโ€™ 3-1 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. It comes after Summerville penned a new contract at Leeds in the summer.

One of the stars of the recent Amazon Prime documentary about the Leeds academy, Summerville is more-recent example of how players can make the jump from 21โ€™s to first team. But Summerville is ambitious, and will want more.

He took to Instagram on Monday following the loss to Arsenal. His caption was intriguing, although most-likely about the loss to the Gunners rather than his lack of starts โ€“ saying: โ€œEven when life doesnโ€™t seem fair, never stop believing.โ€

Does Summerville deserve more game time? As things stand, he will be on the bench against Leicester. But with Harrisonโ€™s form still questionable and Jesse Marsch still overlooking Willy Gnonto, there could be a chance to start.

Rotation might be necessary this week, with Leeds playing three Premier League matches inside a week. Certainly, Summerville cannot be judged off substitute appearances and needs a run of games to prove his worth to Marsch.

Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt โ€“ who also signed contracts in the summer โ€“ have been given that chance. They have impressed, while Summerville is still awaiting his first Premier League start. It might come around, soon.
