Djed Spence completed a move to Leeds United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday and after confirmation in the morning, he sent an exciting four-word message to Leeds fans in the evening.
Spence, 23, is back in the Championship 12 months after playing a key part in Nottingham Forest’s run to the play-off final, and beating Huddersfield Town. He was arguably the best right-back in the league.
The England U21 star joined Spurs off the back of his 2021-22 form – but struggled for game time to begin with. He was loaned to Rennes in January but managed just 10 games, alongside Joe Rodon.
A player that he obviously shares a parent club with, too, in Spurs. Now, a third new club with the Wales ace. His arrival was confirmed on Wednesday, our sixth signing of the summer – with more expected.
Then, on Wednesday evening, Spence sent a message to fans. He is seen as a real coup and Leeds fans are excited by his arrival at Elland Road. He posted a four-word message: “Exciting times, believe me”.

A massive signing. Spence is excellent at this level and while he struggled to break in at Spurs, he is clearly a player with Premier League quality. Leeds have done superbly well to get him in at Elland Road.
The presence of Rodon will have helped given it is the duo’s third spell together. Gretar Steinsson being upstairs helps, too. Hopefully, he can rediscover his best form in the coming weeks and shine for Leeds.
Leeds are expected to bring in a midfielder or two and perhaps, target a left-back before the window slams shut on Friday. Then, the Whites play host to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.
