Divock Origi was handed just his seventh Serie A start of the season on Friday after his move from Liverpool to AC Milan – but the striker, amid reports Leeds are interested, could only push himself closer to the Milan exit door.
Origi, 27, has really struggled since moving to Italy. Just two goals in 27 appearances, starting only seven times in all competitions – all of which have come in the League. But he has failed to develop any kind of momentum at Milan.
Reports emerged that Milan are actually growing fed up of Origi, last week. Indeed, Calcio Mercato claim that Leeds are one of a number of Premier League clubs showing interest in the Belgian. He was given a chance on Friday.
With Milan making a couple of changes to their side, Origi replaced Olivier Giroud up front against Empoli. But Milan drew 0-0 with the 14th-placed side, and Origi somehow failed to convert a chance on 58 minutes to score.
Italian outlet Pianeta Milan handed Origi a 4.5/10 rating for his display, saying: “Highly insufficient display. Wrong movements and incomprehensible choices (like that heel strike). It looks like a foreign body inside this Milan.”

It was perhaps a last chance for Origi to really show why Milan brought him to the club. But he failed to deliver and even worse, Milan dropped points in their bid to finish in the top four. Origi has clearly not won over fans or media.
Leeds would have found they had a decent chance of landing the £87,000-a-week striker this summer anyway. But after Friday’s outing, his exit is almost nailed on come the end of the season. It might end up putting Leeds off, too.
