Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that AS Roma hope to confirm the signing of Rasmus Kristensen from Leeds United in the next 72 hours – with talks to reach an end on Wednesday or Thursday, whether an outcome is reached or not.
Di Marzio broke the news on the weekend that Denmark star Kristensen looks set to join the Europa League finalists. A loan, with a potential option to buy the ex-Salzburg man, is on the cards. A bit of a surprise regarding Kristensen.
His previous comments, and recent reports suggested that the defender was open to remaining at Leeds despite relegation to the Championship. But it looks as if he will now be on his way, at least, for the 23-24 season on loan.
Jose Mourinho is already keen to retain Diego Llorente, and will now likely land Kristensen. Di Marzio has since said that talks will come to an end between Wednesday and Thursday – whatever the outcome is of the negotiations.

Well, a move comes as a bit of a blessing in disguise for Leeds. Kristensen was one of Jesse Marsch’s signings that didn’t work. Hit and miss, under the American. Brenden Aaronson, Kristensen, no. Tyler Adams and Max Wober, yes.
Cody Drameh has returned to the side from Luton on loan and it might be that selling Kristensen helps convince the right-back to remain. You would now expect, if this deal goes through, for Drameh to emerge as our first choice.
What is worrying though, is the amount of players being linked with a loan exit. Aaronson to Fulham, Llorente and Kristensen to Roma, Roca to Betis. Hopefully, they include loan fees. Hopefully, the 49ers know what they’re doing.
