Di Marzio has a new transfer update for Leeds fans, player could now leave next week

Leeds United and AS Roma will continue talks next week to reach an agreement over a transfer for Rasmus Kristensen.

That is according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports the two clubs will look to strike a deal for a straight loan move in the coming days, amid claims it has not advanced as quickly as hoped.

Kristensen could be the second Leeds player to make the switch to Roma this summer, with Diego Llorente also on the verge of returning to the club for a second loan spell.

Llorente’s move was originally set to include an obligation to buy if certain appearance related clauses were met, however it will now just be a straight loan.

And it is that type of agreement Roma will look to reach for Kristensen, too, meaning both players will return to Leeds in 12 months’ time at the end of the loan deal.

Roma set for fresh Kristensen talks next week

Kristensen is among the second batch of players expected to return for pre-season at Leeds on Monday after being granted an extra week off due to internationals in June.

It remains to be seen as to whether he will indeed show, with Llorente and Robin Koch having been told to stay away as they work to complete moves away.

Brenden Aaronson is also not expected to report back on Monday, as he is set to tie up a deal to join Union Berlin, again on a straight season-long-loan.

If true, it is another disappointing deal for Leeds if they are only able to secure a loan with no option-to-buy, he is another who will be back next year.

Leeds should be doing all they can to try get some sort of permanent clause in these deals, even if it is for slightly less than what they were bought for.
