David Prutton has written in his Yorkshire Evening Post column that Leeds United star Ethan Ampadu is going to be a “good part” of the Elland Road dressing room, after we confirmed the Wales star’s arrival from Chelsea last week.
Ampadu, 22, joined Leeds after four successive season-long loan moves away from Chelsea – to Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and Spezia. He joins Leeds with 60 Serie A outings to his name, 43 Wales caps. Lots of experience.
A player that can play in defence or midfield. Against Monaco at York’s LNER Stadium, Ampadu played in the anchor midfield role – but filled in at centre-back when cover was required. Produced an excellent low block in the first half.
Now, Prutton – an ex-Leeds midfielder, turned Sky Sports presenter – had his say on Ampadu and shared what he has heard about the ex-Chelsea man. He says that from what he has heard, Ampadu is good in the dressing room.

“He has got so much under his belt already. From what I’ve heard, he is going to be a good part of the dressing room, a good teammate and not someone who is going to come in and cause too much bother or anything like that.”

He is a player that already knew a couple of member of the Leeds squad. A teammate of Dan James with Wales, an ex-Leipzig teammate of Tyler Adams. He will know a lot of Leeds players simply having played against our stars.
The Wales ace looked good in midfield against Monaco, in his first showing. Clearly, going to be a crucial cog in the way Daniel Farke wants us to play. But it is also good to hear that he is going to be good behind the scenes, too.
